The National Coalition for the Homeless
I pray that everyone is doing well… warm, and dry? And, I pray most of all for your bellies to be well fed! This is one of the most important things I witness everyday… people going hungry… Here! Why? I think it has something to do with the hardness of our hearts…. weather you’re a City council member, or Joe citizen… We all have our part in this mess?! How am I being responsible with what is available to me? This is a question I have to ask myself often, and given the opportunity to resources there is great potential, given no resources or very little… the opportunity diminishes greatly as does the spirit of the poor, usually, not always.
So, as for me… getting ready to get in touch, in person, with soup kitchens, and see where the Lord leads me…!
This always comes down to trusting God!
Believing in His Divine Love for the poor!
He expresses this beautiful love for us through His sweet Psalms!
Psalm 32:14-22
14 From his habitation which he hath prepared, he hath looked upon all that dwell on the earth.
15 He who hath made the hearts of every one of them: who understandeth all their works.
16 The king is not saved by a great army: nor shall the giant be saved by his own great strength.
17 Vain is the horse for safety: neither shall he be saved by the abundance of his strength.
18 Behold the eyes of the Lord are on them that fear him: and on them that hope in his mercy.
19 To deliver their souls from death; and feed them in famine.
20 Our soul waiteth for the Lord: for he is our helper and protector.
21 For in him our heart shall rejoice: and in his holy name we have trusted.
22 Let thy mercy, O Lord, be upon us, as we have hoped in thee
Here’s a proverb…
Proverbs 14:31 (D-R): He that oppresseth the poor, upbraideth his maker: but he that hath pity on the poor, honoureth him.
Here’s a little piece that popped out from Galatians.
Galatians 2:9–10 (D-R): And when they had known the grace that was given to me, James and Cephas and John, who seemed to be pillars, gave to me and Barnabas the right hands of fellowship: that we should go unto the Gentiles, and they unto the circumcision:
10 Only that we should be mindful of the poor: which same thing also I was careful to do.
I know without a doubt that God LOVES us poor… homeless folks!
Even if the people who call themselves His followers don’t do what He instructs them to do if they love Him!
Psalm 9:9–15 (D-R):
10 And the Lord is become a refuge for the poor: a helper in due time in tribulation.
11 And let them trust in thee who know thy name: for thou hast not forsaken them that seek thee, O Lord.
12 Sing ye to the Lord, who dwelleth in Sion: declare his ways among the Gentiles:
13 For requiring their blood, he hath remembered them: he hath not forgotten the cry of the poor.
14 Have mercy on me, O Lord: see my humiliation which I suffer from my enemies.
15 Thou that liftest me up from the gates of death, that I may declare all thy praises in the gates of the daughter of Sion.
I love the Lord for He instructs, and corrects those that He loves!
I pray that you all have a wonderful night, and the good Lord blesses you with another tomorrow, and great strength from on high to battle the evil before us, and within!
